Session description
Outline
Interactive introduction (5 minutes): We'll acknowledge the shortcomings of "traditional" coaching/feedback approaches when it comes to developing teachers.
Research and rationale (15 minutes): I'll introduce the Reflective Cycle as the predictable pattern of thinking we all go through as we develop our expertise and learn anything extensively.
Reflection and practice (15 minutes): Participants will engage in a collaborative group activity to address a scenario using the tools and structure I've provided.
Deepening our learning (15 minutes): I'll introduce the Continuum of Self-Reflection and the associated feedback & coaching strategies that instructional leaders can use to bolster their teachers' long-term growth and development immediately.
Reflection and commitment (10 minutes): Participants will explore the tool and set a personal goal to work fervently to support their teachers from this moment on.
