This Spark Talk shows educators how to use prompting, not specific tools, to develop the six roles of the AI-ready graduate: learner, researcher, synthesizer, problem solver, connector, and storyteller. Participants will explore how simple, structured prompts can help students think more deeply, ask better questions, organize information, solve problems, communicate across audiences, and create meaningful work in any subject area. The session also provides a foundation in AI literacy and digital citizenship, including responsible use, bias awareness, verification, and ethical decision-making. The focus is on helping students use AI safely, thoughtfully, and intentionally. Attendees will leave with practical prompt examples they can use immediately to help students move from passive AI users to active thinkers, creators, collaborators, and problem solvers who are prepared for school, work, and life.

AI for Culturally Affirming Instruction means using AI in ways that honor who students are, reflect their communities, and strengthen student voice and confidence. You will see culturally affirming AI prompting that creates lesson plans, engaging assignments, and family communication you can use right away. You will also learn a structured routine to review AI outputs for bias, privacy, safety, and accuracy. You will build a classroom-ready resource using a prompt template and revise it for your students - ready for your next class!
