Event Information
Content & engagement: Attendees will explore a curated collection of virtual field trips from local, national, and global sites. The session will demonstrate strategies for extending learning through student reflection, digital storytelling, and multimedia projects. Participants will interact with resources, scan QR codes for immediate access, and brainstorm ways to integrate virtual field trips into their classrooms. Peer discussion and hands-on exploration will ensure active engagement throughout.
Time: Based on the individual attendees at any given moment; focus will be placed on what attendees want to know
Engagement Process:
Peer-to-peer interaction: Attendees discuss and share ideas while exploring resources.
Device-based activities: Use QR codes and links so participants can access virtual field trips in real time.
Hands-on reflection: Encourage attendees to consider how they might implement digital storytelling and student projects in their classrooms.
Visual aids: Posters include examples of virtual trips, student-created content, and digital storytelling platforms.
After this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify a variety of free and accessible virtual field trip resources to integrate into their instruction.
- Implement strategies that extend learning through student reflection, storytelling, and creative digital projects.
