Session description

This session explores how schools can align global education initiatives with Portrait of a Graduate frameworks, showcasing strategies to help educators integrate global competencies. Participants will learn how to empower students with mindsets, skills, and attributes that build content mastery and durable skills for thriving in an interconnected world.

Outline

1) Introduction and Rationale (5 min): Why integrate global education with Portrait of a Graduate skills? This will include a peer-to-peer interaction reflection question.
2) Foundations (10 min): Defining global competence and mapping to common Portrait of a Graduate skills
3) Practical Strategies(10 min): Showcasing successful integration—student-led inquiry, global projects, collaborations with international organizations.
4) Discussion (5 min): Connecting ideas to the local context. This portion will incorporate peer-to-peer interaction through the sharing of ideas and concepts.
