Engagement: Quick poll via chat or show of hands on participants’ current tech team experience.
5–15 min: Student Tech Team Frameworks
Present the structure, roles, and best practices of student tech teams.
Highlight how these frameworks advance digital equity.
Engagement: Audience brainstorms in small groups (in-person) or breakout rooms (virtual) about potential tech team initiatives at their schools.
15–30 min: Resources and Tools
Showcase practical resources: Choice Boards, STT Toolkit, and district/school examples.
Discuss strategies for starting, scaling, and sustaining student tech teams.
Engagement: Participants explore a sample resource or toolkit via devices and share one key takeaway with the group.
30–50 min: Panel Discussion with Students
Students from Orange High School and Oakwood Avenue School share experiences, successes, and challenges.
Pre-planned questions:
How has your tech team made an impact?
What skills have you developed through participation?
How do you encourage others to join?
Engagement: Audience submits questions live via chat or Q&A platform; panelists respond.
50–60 min: Q&A and Reflection
Open discussion and reflection on lessons learned.
Participants share one action step they will implement at their school.
Engagement: Interactive wrap-up using sticky notes, chat, or polling tool to capture key takeaways.
Process Notes:
Multiple engagement tactics: live polls, peer-to-peer discussion, breakout rooms, hands-on exploration of resources, and real-time Q&A with students.
Focused on active participation to model authentic student agency and peer collaboration.
Emphasis on practical takeaways participants can implement immediately.
