Session description

Get ready to flip the script and hand over the learning wheel to your students! Our session choice board will showcase nine incredible tools that amplify student choice and voice in ways that will astound you. You'll experience these tools firsthand by choosing your own learning path through our session.

Outline

5 minutes - intro to session and choice board (the choice board will include nine tools to create podcasts, blogs, videos, digital stories, and other options)

10 minutes - Share three tools from the choice board (presenter will demo how to use each tool)

6 minutes - Choose one of the tools shared and create a simple project. During this time, participants will also have time to work on an action plan using a Google Form or Slides.

10 minutes - Share three different tools from the choice board (presenter will demo how to use each tool)

6 minutes - Choose one of the additional tools shared and create a simple project. During this time, participants will also have time to work on an action plan using a Google Form or Slides.

Outcomes

Participants will:

1. Explore and evaluate a minimum of three digital tools that enable students to demonstrate learning through multiple modalities and formats, allowing them to select methods that align with their strengths and interests.

2. Complete at least one project using the tools introduced on the choice board.

3. Create an action plan for implementing at least one new tool or approach in their own teaching context that increases opportunities for student agency and authentic expression within the next term.
