Outline

Introduction (5 minutes)

Warm welcome and session overview

Share my personal journey as a music educator discovering the power of remixing EdTech tools—how finding the right “beat” for each learner transformed my teaching and deepened student engagement

Introduce the “Be a DJ” metaphor: Like a DJ curates and remixes tracks, educators can create personalized tech “playlists” to connect learning with each student

Connecting Learning to the Learner (10 minutes)

Present the principle of tailoring technology to diverse student needs and interests to personalize learning

Discuss my experience selecting and reworking tools to make learning relevant and engaging for every student

Interactive poll: Participants share their go-to tech “tracks” and remixing challenges

Igniting Learner Agency (10 minutes)

Describe how embracing creative ownership of technology helped me foster student-led learning journeys and ownership

Share stories of students taking charge in classrooms where technology is flexibly and thoughtfully applied

Peer-share breakout rooms: Attendees exchange ideas on sparking agency in their contexts

Practical Remix Strategies (10 minutes)

Demonstrate remixing digital tools like a DJ: layering, customizing, and adjusting resources to fit distinct learning “rhythms”

Activity: Participants brainstorm their own EdTech remixes and create sample “playlists” using chat or collaborative boards

Mindset Shifts and Reflection (5 minutes)

Reflect on the mindset shift from rigid tech use to flexible, creative remixing—how being open to change inspired new connections with learners in my own work

Reflection prompt: Write one remix strategy to implement in their classroom

Q&A and Closing (5 minutes)

Answer questions and share resources to continue the remix journey

Summarize key takeaways: blending personalization, agency, and creativity to make technology truly connect with learners
