Session description

In this session, participants will explore research and discuss strategies for engaging others in prioritizing science instruction in the curricular experiences of elementary students. Hear from district administrators that have figured out how to successfully incorporate science in the school day, while also maintaining high standards for ELA and math.

Outline

Paticipants will be presented with research data and video clips of school administrators. They will engage in discussion with peers and share their own ideas and strategies.

In the 60 minute session:
10-15 minutes will be spent on introducing the topic, making the case for science from research and data
20 minutes viewing several video clips
20-25 minutes in discussion and sharing (peer-to-peer)
