Event Information
The audience will play a short, 3-minute game, created by students through gamification. In this game, they will put on the eyeglasses of diversity and choose to live an experience with the purpose, process, and results of research into the difficulties experienced by students and other people with disabilities such as autism, Tourette syndrome, dyslexia, among others. For this game, each person will choose a neurodivergent individual and answer short questions, taking the role of a different person. They will be able to learn about the difficulties they experience. The game will have different answers and paths that will lead to the same goal depending on their decisions. The goal at the end of the game is to identify small and large actions that we can all take to generate empathy and support for people with these difficulties inside and outside of school. They can also listen to a short, creative, 3-minute presentation about the purpose, process, and results of research into the difficulties experienced by students and other people with disabilities such as autism, Tourette syndrome, dyslexia, among others. At the booth, they will also be able to see graphs showing the percentage of students with these difficulties in the community and around the world.
Finally, if the public doesn't have time, they can scan a QR code on a banner where they can review everything that was done in the project and the link to the game from home.
Attendees will be able to: Learn how to relate the use of gamification to a Spanish language project.
Learn about how people with neurodivergences view the world.
Identify actions that can be implemented inside and outside of the classroom to support people with dyslexia, autism, Tourette syndrome, and others.
Understand why this cognitive process occurs in people.
Learn how to promote equality in the classroom.
Identify adjustments teachers can make to support the educational process.
Play the game, recognizing that different paths can lead to the same goal.
