Event Information
0–10 min Dopamine Boost Bingo Participants reflect on their own digital habits using the “In the Last 24 Hours” Bingo; discuss how similar loops affect students.
10–20 min The Adolescent Brain Under Construction Mini-lesson with visuals of the prefrontal cortex, amygdala, and nucleus accumbens; participants analyze behavioral implications.
20–30 min The Dopamine Loop & the Classroom Explore instant feedback cycles and how digital design exploits reward systems; identify parallels to student device use.
30–45 min From Surviving to Thriving Dive into brain states (survival, emotional, executive) and co-regulation practices like mindfulness, movement, and “connection before correction.”
45–55 min Design Challenge Participants select one strategy—e.g., delayed gratification challenge or tech-free reflection—and adapt it for their classroom.
55–60 min Synthesize & Share Groups share takeaways and prompt AI (ChatGPT, Scholar AI) to synthesize their learning into actionable classroom guidance.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Explain how adolescent brain development and dopamine responses affect student behavior and motivation.
Identify how screen-based habits impact executive function and attention.
Integrate practical regulation strategies into instructional design to promote focus, well-being, and self-control.
