Teaching Tomorrow’s Innovators: Project Management as a Classroom Framework

Outline

Content and Engagement: This session will present practical ways to integrate project management principles into classroom instruction to enhance Project-Based Learning. The content includes strategies for planning, organizing, and assessing student projects through clear timelines, defined roles, and reflection. Attendees will engage through discussion, collaborative planning, and hands-on creation of a classroom project management framework. Participants will share ideas, explore real classroom examples, and build an action plan they can immediately apply with their students.

Time: An introduction will begin the presentation then I will spend 5 minutes. Exploring project management strategies 25 minutes. Hands-on creation of a classroom framework 15 minutes. Sharing, Reflection, and Next Steps: 10 minutes. Questions 5 minutes.

Process: The session will include frequent engagement through peer-to-peer discussions, small-group collaboration, and hands-on activities. Participants will use their own devices to explore digital planning tools and complete interactive templates. Throughout the session, attendees will share ideas with partners, exchange feedback on their project plans, and reflect collectively using guiding prompts to connect new learning to classroom practice.

Outcomes

Attendees will leave with a classroom-ready project management action plan that outlines steps for integrating project management practices into Project-Based Learning. This includes a customizable project timeline, student role templates, and reflection tools designed to help teachers immediately apply these strategies in their own classrooms.
