Session description

Join Bruce and Baxter, Scholar Education’s pups, for a guided wellness walk near the Convention Center that blends movement, creativity, and conversation. Educators will engage in “bark-sized” discussions on innovation and well-being, ending with a visit to a mobile coffee truck for reflection and connection with fellow attendees.

Outline

Outline:
• 0–10 minutes – Leash Up and Get Ready:
Participants gather at the meeting point, greet Bruce and Baxter, and receive a “PAW Pass” reflection card. The facilitators outline the route and share the goal of the experience: to “fetch new perspectives” on educator wellness and the role of AI in fostering meaningful learning.
• 10–45 minutes – Walk, Wag, and Reflect:
During the walk, participants stop at three “reflection posts”:
1. Sit and Stay: Pause to consider how AI can help teachers manage daily routines and reduce burnout.
2. Fetch New Ideas: Share examples of how AI can give educators and students more time for creativity, curiosity, and connection.
3. Paws and Reflect: Discuss how to maintain humanity and empathy while embracing innovation in schools.
Small “packs” of participants rotate through these posts, engaging in conversation, note-taking on their PAW Passes, and sharing quick takeaways with their group.
• 45–60 minutes – Treat Time and Takeaways:
The walk concludes back at the starting point where a mobile coffee truck is available for refreshments. Participants exchange insights, reflect on their “walk-away” lessons, and receive a digital resource link for replicating similar “Walk & Wag PD” experiences in their own school communities.
