Session description
This station explores how first-grade students transform their own ideas into playable board games using AI as a creative partner. Students begin by designing original concepts through drawing, storytelling, and rule creation. Once their ideas are established, AI is introduced to enhance their work by refining visuals, expanding possibilities, and supporting iteration.
Participants will engage with authentic student work, including original drawings, AI-enhanced designs, and final game prototypes. Through a quick, hands-on activity, attendees will experience how simple prompts can help extend student thinking and creativity.
This approach emphasizes student ownership, creativity, and developmentally appropriate uses of AI in early elementary classrooms. Rather than replacing thinking, AI supports students in communicating and strengthening their ideas through visual and interactive design. Educators will leave with practical strategies and prompts they can immediately apply in their own learning environments.
