Q: What is the event called? Are there two separate events or one joint event?
A: We are co-locating our two annual conferences, ASCD25 and ISTELive 25, so each event will continue with their historical names.
Q: When will these events be held?
A: June 29-July 2, 2025.
Q: Where will it be located?
A: Conference content will be held at the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center, Grand Hyatt San Antonio and San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, TX.
Q: How much is registration?
A: Pricing will be similar to current ISTELive and ASCD Annual Conference pricing. There will be tiered registration discounts at multiple points in the months before the events to encourage early planning. ASCD and ISTE members will receive a discount off the registration fee, regardless of when they register. Exact pricing will be available Fall 2024.
Q: Will I be able to attend sessions from both organizations?
A: Yes! By purchasing a ticket to either event, attendees will have access to content from both events. Note that a small subset of content has additional fees, some events are invitation-only or are tailored to specific roles, and some sessions are free, but require pre-registration.
Q: When does registration open?
A: Registration will open December 2024. Exact dates will be shared in the Fall.
Q: How will I find content just from ASCD or just from ISTE?
A: Sessions will be identified in the program and onsite with unique iconography to make it easy to determine what is “ASCD content”, “ISTE content”, and “blended content” (a strand of content designed for both communities). We’ll be designing the event purposefully to help create content groupings that support ease of navigation through both events. Learning tracks and sample schedules will be provided to help organize the content along with a host of filters and digital and in person tools to find desired content quickly. In addition, a team of expert volunteers will be onsite to help attendees design the perfect individual program for them.
Q: Will there be a virtual option?
A: Yes, details are still being finalized but we will provide live streamed content and recordings from select sessions. We’ll share more information later this year.
Q: With more sessions across these co-located events. Will it be easier/harder to make it onto the program?
A: We have planned and contracted space specifically to ensure we have a full suite of content for both communities and a proportionate amount of space based on historical participation from each event. That said, acceptance rates are always dependent on the number of submissions.
Q: How will the Call for Proposals work?
A: There will be two separate calls for proposals. On both forms, you can indicate if your content is focused around the ISTE or ASCD program or if it should be considered for our blended strand of content. Selecting blended does not improve your chances of acceptance, and all content proposals are reviewed by a team of reviewers who help determine final designation of how a session is categorized.
Q: When does the CFP open?
A: The Call for Proposals for the majority of session content will be open during the month of September. (Exact dates will be announced later this year.) A secondary call for proposals happens in late Winter to ensure we capture fresh ideas and create additional opportunities for participation.
Q: How will I find my colleagues?
A: We know connecting with your community is important, so we're creating several ways to help you find both familiar faces and new friends!
We'll be sharing more details in the coming months, including specific features and opportunities to provide feedback and shape the experience to your needs.
Q: This event is going to be very large - will I get lost?
A: Don't worry! We understand this is a large event, and we're designing the flow and session tracks to guide you seamlessly to your desired content and connect you with like-minded attendees. While there's plenty to explore, we're taking extra steps to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience. For any questions or assistance, feel free to reach out to our friendly help desks, volunteers, and easily identifiable staff members who are always happy to point you in the right direction or offer suggestions on creating your learning journey through the events.
Q: Will there also be changes to ASCD and ISTE memberships too?
A: We are exploring a variety of options to best serve the education community, including reciprocal benefits, joint membership, etc. More details to come later this year.
Q: Is the ASCD Leadership Summit 2024 still happening?
A: Yes! ASCD Leadership Summit will be held Oct. 18-20, 2024 in Nashville, TN at the Gaylord Opryland. Learn more here!
