Attendees will leave this session with specific tools and ideas to seamlessly incorporate professional learning in their schools. These tools include:
Teacher Tech Committee - Pilot
Finding ways to get teachers credit
Podcast
Edcamp
TP Tech
Train admin in staff meeting
CCSD UIF - Digital Learning Resources
Tech Tip Tuesday - email/blog
Speed-geeking (10 teachers to present; 3 10-minute snipits
Lunch & Learn (we will feed you!) And other food-related bribes!
Our plan is to provide examples of each of the above listed tips/strategies in an engaging format and explain how these strategies have worked in our schools.
This work is necessary for schools. Data shows that 1-time PD is not effective (see article in “Supporting Research”). Teachers need individualized PD that is flexible and that they can engage with when they need it most and on their schedule.
Slide deck of strategies with examples presented by 3 dynamic leaders in instructional technology and professional learning. We will leverage a workshop model so that they have time to create products to take with them.
5 minutes: for introductions to the topic and presenter backgrounds.
5 minutes: Activity to get them moving and thinking about PD in general
30 minutes: Equal time will be given for each of our 10 tips/strategies
10 minutes: for Q&A and exploring resources
10 minutes: for developing and designing something to take back with them (workshop model)
