Session description

Google Sheets can be used to create amazing self-checking assignments! But sometimes the checking mechanisms can be time-consuming to program & set up. This poster session will demo & provide many ready-to-go templates so that all you have to do is add your content & send to students!

Purpose & objective

The purpose of this session is to introduce easy-to-use self-checking Google Sheets templates to poster visitors. During the session, various sheets will be demo'ed on the screen, and QR codes will be provided for instant access. Additionally, the set-up mechanisim can be modeled in-person, but it will also be included in the resources provided.

A full list of my sheets templates can be found here: tiny.cc/selfchecksheets and a previous version of the session can be found here: tiny.cc/neonsheets

I have presented versions of this session at the KySTE (the Kentucky ISTE affiliate) conference, the Tech-Teach-Learn conference, and Innovations for Learning over the last year and it has been well-received by teachers each time -- they are eager to try the ideas and they feel like they are capable of doing so! Additionally, some of my resources in this poster sessions have been used by Eric Curts in his more in-depth Holy Sheets! presentation at previous ISTE Live events, but this would offer more one-on-one help with getting them set up.

Outline

The poster session will be a rotation of demo'ing the Sheets templates on the screen, and discussing the set up of the templates with visitors. There is no set time on how it will take to do this -- demos will run throughout the session and visitors can ask for as much help as needed.
