Purpose & objective
The purpose of this presentation is to provide insight into how the DeKalb County School District establishes and sustains Digital Learning Teams, with a specific focus on the role of the IT department in supporting teachers to effectively utilize and integrate technology. Participants will gain an understanding of the district's commitment to ensuring all teachers are equipped with the necessary tools and support to harness technology's potential for enhanced learning outcomes. Additionally, we will explore the significance of leveraging teachers to build capacity throughout the district and the broader implications for advancing education in our community.
In this session participants will:
*Understand why it is important to leverage teachers to build capacity throughout the school district
*Learn the top 5 tips and strategies to consider when establishing and maintaining a technology team

Session Outline:
Opening: (5 mins.)
*Get audience inspired and excited using pom poms and Technology team chant Ex. When I say TECH- you say TEAM (repeat 3x)
*Icebreaker (to demonstrate the power of collaboration)
Introduction: (10 mins.)
*Introduce presenters
*Agenda for session
*Show an engaging video of digital learning teams in DCSD
*Share DeKalb County School District’s story and what led to the development of digital learning teams
Defining the Technology Cheerleaders: (15 mins)
*Who are the DeKalb County School District technology cheerleaders?
*Digital Learning Teams and Liaisons
*Digital Learning Roadmap (aligning your technology goals to the school wide improvement plan, and technology plan)
*Turn and talk protocol (Scan QR code to answer questions):
Does your school have a technology team? If so, how is it organized? If your school has a technology team, how often do you meet? How do you get your other teachers to buy in with technology integration? How do the teams communicate and share information with teachers in the building?
