Purpose: The purpose of this presentation is to empower educators to be more inclusive by considering how to create an anti-racist and diverse educational systems through their own lenses and in their individual situations. The purpose is also to empower educators to affect the decision making on their campuses. As stated earlier, we (presenter and audience) will discuss the buzz words around digital equity and what those words really mean and how they affect the day-to-day of education. We will also discuss how to create an Anti-Racist, Diverse and Inclusive environment. Also, educators can begin to empowered to affect the decision making on their campus no matter their roles. We will also discuss how decision makers can be more inclusive of diverse educators. By considering the topics that will be discussed, we hope that campus leaders can begin to create a shared vision around the use of technology that engages all stakeholders with diverse backgrounds. We hope to encourage educators to grow and enrich their own teaching and learning to empower them to participate in more decision making opportunities (a seat at the table) without waiting to be invited. Our probing questions (while also answering questions from the audience) will lead a discussion about creating a collaborative culture on their campuses that leads to innovation and use of new and upcoming digital tools effectively.
