Tana wants you to know she was a final four finalist to be Wichita Kansas' baseball team's ballpark announcer. Sadly, she was not selected. So, she spends her time coaching classroom teachers to the best they can be and have more tech skills than they know they have. Making technology tools relevant to students is her super power. Her favorite activity in the world is spending time with her son. Well. . . most days. Teenagers!

Session description

Steven Spielberg uses Cheetos Moments to stop, recenter, be direct and try again. Learn how to fail with friends while learning new student-centered relevant ways for students to show their learning such as memes, music parodies, TikToks, emojis and plenty more. Come hungry to create and leave munching on ideas.

Purpose & objective

* Participants will try new ideas with their presentation tools of choice
* Common tools will be used while showcasing HOW they can be used differently
* The model that will be used is: share an idea, worktime, sharing, then brainstorming application ideas.
* Evidence success is attendee's participation (at whatever level that is comfortable for them), attempting ideas while leaving with new ideas or at least a comfort level to try them
* Lastly, educators see how relevant social technology uses such as memes, emoji, TikToks can connect students to their curriculum.

Outline

Presenter will share a challenge/idea. Attendees will learn the challenge, attempt the challenge, & digitally share their creation.

This is followed by brainstorming application ideas.

An example could be a Canva used with MEMES. But meme has to be based in curriculum, not behavior! Another challenge could be a Tiktok-esque video creation. TikTok is the video version of memes. They have voice, categories, express ideas, and summarize situations.

There will be 4-5 actively engaged challenges ranging in length of 2 minutes to complete to 5!
