Patrick Donovan is an instructional coach and an esports coach and coordinator at Ames High School in Ames, Iowa. He’s also the host of the “Esports Classroom Podcast” where he interviews high school and college-level coaches and players, along with others connected to scholastic esports. Donovan has previously served as high school science teacher, technology integration specialist, and director of technology. He’s also the host of the “Esports Classroom Podcast” where he interviews high school and college-level coaches and players, along with others connected to scholastic esports. Donovan has previously served as high school science teacher, technology integration specialist, and director of technology. He has taught multiple college courses on educational technology for preservice teachers at Iowa State University. Donovan has earned multiple master’s degrees, with a focus in curriculum and instructional technology and transformative school leadership. He’s a member of the Iowa Technology and Education Connection (ITEC) Board of Directors, and has presented at a number of conferences and worked with various districts, all focused on improving teaching and learning for all students through the effective use of technology. Donovan’s focus is on helping students overcome barriers and identifying how educators can use the tools and techniques at their disposal to reach every learner.
