Randy has been an elementary and middle school ELA teacher, PLTW teacher, AIG Specialist, and a District IFT/Media Coordinator with a passion for integrating picture books and digital tools. Teaching PLTW sparked an interest in STEM and how programs and tools can be utilized to enhance classroom instruction. He has presented school, district, and state sessions about literacy, digital tools, and STEM. Randy looks forward to incorporating the ISTE Standards in his presentations, now that they have been adopted by North Carolina.

Tech, Trails, and Tall Tales: An Interactive Experience into San Antonio’s Past

In "Tech, Trails, and Tall Tales," attendees will join an interactive walking tour of San Antonio’s historic sites using Interactive Maps and picture books. Participants learn how to integrate literature, history, and digital mapping to create engaging, place-based learning experiences, providing strategies to implement similar projects in schools. This tour will be meeting outside the Main Lobby entrance doors of the Henry B. González Convention Center at 9:00am.
