Kiki Prottsman is a leading expert in computer science education and an advocate for equity and inclusion in STEM fields. With over 15 years of experience teaching and developing educational programs, Kiki has made significant contributions to the field of CSEd. She is also an author of several books on computer science which have been widely praised for their innovative and engaging approach. Kiki is the Director of Education at Microsoft MakeCode where she oversees the development of curriculum and resources as well as training for teachers. She has experience building and managing partnerships with both national and international communities.

Introduction to physical computing with MakeCode and micro:bit

MakeCode is a "making and coding" programming language with a powerful simulator. Students use a block based language, JavaScript, or Python. In this hands on session, participants will collaborate and direct their own learning, making and coding projects with micro;bit, choosing from 75 project ideas aligned to professional areas.
