Session description

In this session, we will do a deep dive into your district's data practices and use this to spearhead an innovative Data Summit. Through this Data Summit, we will develop the skills and mindset needed to transform your data into easy-to-understand bites and clean data from PK-12.

Outline

Content will be focus on PowerSchool, however, much of the information will be able to be utilized in any SIS Platform. Through hands on learning and engaging presentations, there will be opportunities for group work, peer-to-peer interaction, device-based activities, a few games, and some prizes.

Intro and background: 5 minutes
Why clean data matters: 5-8 minutes
Game: What connects in your SIS and how is the data connected to you? 10 minutes
What it means to have clean data and how AI can help: 5-8 minutes
Interactive Activity: Survey at table within group to determine data messes and ways to cleanup measures. 6 minutes
What is a Data Summit and How does it work: 10 Minutes
Interactive Activity: working in a group, determine what steps your group would need to consider a Data Summit for your own district. 10-15 minutes
Bringing it all together/Sharing: 5-7 minutes
Q&A: 5-10 minutes (depending on time)
