Explore the K20 LEARN site for free resources—5E lessons, instructional strategies, game-based learning, and tech tools. Find practical, engaging materials that enhance authentic teaching and learning. You'll leave with ready-to-use content for learners. This hands-on, interactive session equips you to apply these resources right away.

Outline

Engage (15 minutes):
Introduce the K20 LEARN website and its purpose.
Use Mentimeter to gather responses, sparking interest in the session's content.
Explore (25 minutes)
Introduce various categories of resources on the K20 LEARN site, focusing on the game portal, 5E lessons, and instructional strategies.
Briefly demonstrate how to navigate the website and access different resources.
Encourage participants to identify resources they find particularly useful or relevant to their teaching context.
Explain (20 minutes)
Discuss how to evaluate resources for authenticity and alignment with educational standards.
Present strategies and tools for integrating technology into lessons to promote authentic learning experiences.
Facilitate a discussion where groups share insights from their exploration, focusing on how certain resources can address diverse student needs.
Provide a handout summarizing evaluation criteria and integration strategies.
Extend (20 minutes):

Participants will be exploring the K20 LEARN website, navigating through its free and authentic 5E lessons, strategies, games, and tech tools. Having your own device will allow them to interact with these resources in real-time. However, if participants don't have one available, no worries! I will provide three iPads for participants to use. This way, everyone can explore the platform and walk away with materials ready to implement in the classroom.
