Session description

Engage with us on our intervention Gear Model. Our relationship-based model that focuses on academics and habits of mind will be shared along with all the gears needed to work together. We will share the largest gears (intervention, movement, emotions, enrichment, & reflection) and smaller gears surrounding the work.

Outline

Sharing of our experience (25 minutes)
This will be done through powerpoint slides. Authentic student work will be part of this. At various points in the presentation we will stop for interaction and engagement with the audience.

Group activities that model our work (25 minutes),
1. Using real student data, plan intervention next steps for a student
2. Do an affirmation circles activity
3. Experience a math movement activity that integrate literacy skills
4. Participate in part of a STEM activity related to enrichment
5. Discuss barriers standing in the way of doing what is best for learners and how to overcome them
