Supporting research

Fostering Creativity and Critical Thinking:
Research indicates that video production in the classroom fosters creativity and critical thinking. A study by Robin (2008) found that creating digital stories improves students’ ability to express their ideas creatively while honing critical thinking skills, particularly when they analyze and reflect on the visual and auditory elements they incorporate.

Enhanced Student Engagement and Motivation:
The use of videos as a learning tool has been shown to significantly increase student engagement and motivation. According to a 2012 study by Kearney and Schuck, students reported higher levels of motivation and deeper learning when involved in video-making, as it allowed them to collaborate, take ownership of their learning, and see tangible results.

Improved Conceptual Understanding and Retention:
Koumi’s 2006 research suggests that videos, when well-constructed, can improve conceptual understanding and knowledge retention by combining visual, auditory, and narrative elements. This multimedia approach caters to multiple learning styles, making it easier for students to grasp complex concepts and remember them long-term.
