Event Information
Introduction (5 minutes)
Participants will be welcomed with a brief introduction to both presenters, setting the stage for a hands-on, interactive learning experience.
Exploring Khanmigo’s Tools for Teachers (45 minutes)
This segment will be divided into several interactive, hands-on activities that allow participants to engage deeply with Khanmigo’s AI capabilities.
We’ll begin with Lesson Hooks & Exit Tickets, where participants will observe how Khanmigo generates engaging hooks and exit tickets, followed by an activity to create their own. Participants will engage in peer-to-peer interaction as they share their hooks and discuss the use of exit tickets in assessing student understanding.
Next, participants will dive into Generating Clear Directions and Informational Text, where they will use Khanmigo to generate instructions for a classroom task and compare their results in small group discussions. This will foster collaboration and help participants reflect on clarity and effectiveness in communication.
We will continue with Making Learning Relevant with Real-World Examples, where participants will input learning objectives into Khanmigo to generate relevant real-world examples. They will collaborate in teams, exchanging ideas on how these examples could improve student engagement.
Finally, the SMART Goal Writer activity will allow participants to work in pairs, turning general classroom objectives into SMART goals using Khanmigo’s tools. This collaborative experience will conclude with reflections on how setting measurable goals can support student success.
Conclusion (5 minutes)
We will conclude with a recap of key learnings and a celebration of participant progress.
Research emphasizes the transformative impact of AI tools like Khanmigo in crafting engaging lesson hooks and exit tickets. In the Khan Academy Blog, Khan Academy shows how Khanmigo tailors content to student interests, making learning more relatable and boosting engagement. Additionally, UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) highlights in "Artificial Intelligence in Education: Challenges and Opportunities" how AI tools adapt to diverse learner needs, fostering personalized learning. Coupled with John Hattie’s "Visible Learning for Teachers", which demonstrates the power of integrating technology with effective teaching strategies, this research supplements how Khanmigo elevates both student engagement and achievement.
