Session description

Coaching presents unique challenges, particularly in gaining educator support. This session will explore strategies for developing effective teacher-coach relationships that promote growth, positivity, and confidence with technology integration. The presenters will share practical ideas to engage and motivate educators, converting resistance into enthusiasm.

Welcome & SEL check (5min)
Collaborative activity, “Coaching Challenges and Wins” (5min)

Strategy: Punch Cards - share what, why, how (10min)
1. Demonstrate how the punch card system works:
2. Discuss possible prizes and how this low-cost, high-reward system boosts morale and participation.
3. Participants brainstorm ways they could implement a similar system in their schools.

Strategy: Monthly Tech Contests- share what, why, how (10min)
Examples:
1. 12 Days of Techmas: teachers explore new apps or tools
daily.
2. March Madness for Tech Apps: a bracket-style competition
where teachers vote on and experiment with tech tools.
3. Extreme Makeover: Paper to Digital Learning: teachers
convert traditional lessons into digital formats.
4. Organize Your Digital Life: a challenge that helps teachers
streamline their digital workflows
5. Tech Treasure Hunt: go on a digital scavenger hunt to learn
the tools in Google Docs or Microsoft Word by engaging in a
step-by-step guide
6. Flipped Classroom Face Off: Flip your classroom by creating
a video lesson
7. Brainstorm as a group on monthly contests

Strategy: Badging System- share what, why, how (10 min)
1. Share examples of how badges can represent different skill levels and accomplishments, from beginner to advanced tech integration.
2. Discuss the psychological effect of recognition and how it fosters teacher pride and further engagement.
3. Share the process of developing a system and creating badges

Strategy: Bingo, Appy Hour, Click&Tell, and more (10 min)
1. Share additional strategies and the impact of learning on teacher efficacy and confidence.
2. Participants share their ideas and successes with similar activities.

Q&A (5min)

Participants will contribute with shared resources, comments, and questions on a collaborative space they can access indefinitely during and after the session.
