Outline

Ready to join the AI Teachers Department? This creative spin on teacher-PD remixes Taylor Swift's albums with generative AI concepts. Explore how to create "Reputation"-making professional learning experiences and spark hands-on engagement through the examples across the AI eras! This session will also walk participants through a creative process leveraging AI tools like SchoolAI to make PD relevant, relatable, and memorable. Walk away with a frame of reference on how to use AI to help personalize teacher-training, promote relevant outcomes, and increase perspectives in asset-based instructional design.

Session Outline:

Part 1: Welcome to the AI Eras tour (10 minutes)
- Gist: AI PD concept introduction & connection to Taylor's eras; the "why" and relevance behind this PD design (making teacher-training relevant, personalized, and themed precisely for stakeholders).
- SchoolAI Feature: Using AI as a tutor to build background knowledge/preview concepts before learning. Participants will experience an AI chatbot Space to introduce themselves, share their level of experience with AI and prompting, and build a bit of background knowledge on Taylor Swift’s “Eras” concept.

Part 2: Explore the AI Eras (15 minutes)
- Gist: Jigsaw-lite / choose-your-own-adventure hands-on exploring of the AI eras + collaborative table debrief based on Eras-style reflection questions.

Part 3: Creating the PD themes + Era-themed example prompt (10 minutes)
- Gist: Basic AI prompting practice and nuances of prompting for PD design in LLMs
- SchoolAI Feature: Showcase of how I used SchoolAI Assistant to be my PD design partner + compare prompting in SchoolAI to prompting in everyday LLMs.

Part 4: Create a PD outline (15 minutes)
- Gist: Participants will use AI as a mentor and teammate to generate a unique version of their own version of an AI Eras tour-style PD or relevant concept for their stakeholders.
- SchoolAI Feature: Teachers will use a SchoolAI Space to help them co-create ideas.

Part 5: Sharing/closure (10 minutes)
- Recap, reflect, and next steps
- Showcase PD outlines assisted by AI
- Where to find SchoolAI online and at ISTE
