Supporting research

AI-driven Reading Coach technology has the potential to significantly empower young readers by personalizing and enhancing their literacy experiences. This technology can leverage findings on embodied cognition to promote early literacy skills, which are crucial indicators of academic success (Jensen et al., 2012). By linking concepts with physical actions, children can develop a strong foundation for reading comprehension in a playful and interactive manner, making learning intrinsically motivating (Jensen et al., 2012).
Interestingly, while embodied technology is particularly conducive to creating novel interactions for literacy development, few libraries have adopted such technology (Jensen et al., 2012). This presents an opportunity for AI-driven Reading Coach technology to fill this gap and provide personalized, adaptive learning experiences in various educational settings, including libraries and classrooms.
In conclusion, AI-driven Reading Coach technology can revolutionize literacy education by offering tailored support to young readers. Studies have shown that technology-based coaching can produce significant improvements in various areas of literacy, including phonemic awareness, decoding, comprehension, fluency, writing, and spelling (Weiser et al., 2019). By harnessing the power of AI to deliver personalized, adaptive learning experiences, educators can empower young readers to thrive in their literacy journey, ultimately contributing to their overall academic success (Singh & Pathania, 2024).
