Session description

In this day and age, education is evolving and so much is required by leadership and teachers each day. Burnout and mental drain comes on fast, and at times, slowly and it can take a toll on every educator. Identify ways to avoid burnout and set boundaries for yourself.

Outline

Content and engagement:
(15m) Learners will identify this past year and where they fall on a scale of 1-5 of if they were overwhelmed. Learners will make a list of where they had stressors this past year and if they improved or got worse. Learners will use peer-peer talk to discuss similarities and comparisons.

Learners will explore the term burnout and how we get there as humans. (10-15min)

(10m) Learners will identify the stressors and demands this year as well as if they had stressful work environments and/or moments where they felt overwhelmed.

20m Learners will collaborate with one another and come up with ways to avoid burnout while managing life and the demands of education

Learners will identify 3 opportunities to better themselves and avoid teacher/educator burnout in the future (10-15m)
