Event Information
The Business Analyst Brief (0-3 Minutes)
Content: Introduction to the MYP Design Cycle and the rigor of Criteria A. Focus on the AI research process: how students synthesize data on cost, material, and SDG alignment to create a formal design brief in Canva.
Engagement: Presenter delivers a polished, memorized 3-minute "elevator pitch" to new small groups or individuals who approach the station.
Artifacts Displayed: Visual flowcharts of the AI synthesis workflow and screenshots of the Canva briefs.
2. The Designer Prototype Showcase (3-6 Minutes)
Content: Transition to the creative phase. Demonstration of how the data from the Canva brief is translated into the final, functional, and sustainable prototype in Minecraft. Show specific examples of SDG-aligned design features.
Engagement: Showcase high-resolution images/short video loops of student Minecraft prototypes on a display.
Tactic: Invite attendees to ask targeted questions about the unit structure or the student's process.
3. Takeaway and Unit Structure (6-8 Minutes)
Content: Review the overall interdisciplinary unit plan and the three main learning outcomes.
Engagement: Distribute a physical/digital handout (via QR code) containing the full unit structure, key AI prompts, and links to sample design briefs.
Tactic: Offer personalized guidance on adapting the unit to different grade levels/subjects.
Time Allocation (90 Minutes Total):
80 Minutes: Continuous engagement cycle (as detailed above) with individuals and small groups.
10 Minutes: Dedicated time for deep one-on-one discussion with high-interest attendees or network building.
Process: The presenter acts as a facilitator, constantly moving between the Pitch, Showcase, and Takeaway distribution, ensuring no attendees are left waiting. The non-linear format caters specifically to varying interest levels and provides maximum opportunity for meaningful dialogue.
