Short bio: Shannon McClintock Miller is a teacher librarian, international speaker, consultant, and author with a passion for education, librarianship, advocacy, technology, STEM, student voice. She’s the district teacher librarian and innovation director at Van Meter Community School in Iowa, and serves as the Future Ready Librarians Leader. Full bio: Shannon McClintock Miller is a teacher librarian, international speaker, consultant, and author with a passion for education, librarianship, advocacy, technology, STEM, student voice, and making a difference in the world—and in the lives of others, especially children. She’s the district teacher librarian and innovation director at Van Meter Community School in Iowa, and serves as the Future Ready Librarians Leader, working with students, librarians, educators, and communities around the world. She’s also a thought leader for Follett Content and Follett Software, and the author of the award-winning blog, The Library Voice. Capstone and ISTE jointly published McClintock’s children’s book, Sonia’s Digital World, in June 2023. She has also published four additional children’s books focused on library skills, and eight graphic novels in the Adventures in Makerspace series with Capstone and Cantata Learning. She co-authored Leading from the Library with Bill Bass, published by ISTE, with the second edition released in 2025. In 2025, McClintock launched her newest series, ISTE Digital Explorers, and at ISTELive 26, she’ll celebrate the release of three additional titles in the series. McClintock was named a Library Journal Mover & Shaker in 2014, and received ISTE’s Making It Happen Award in 2016. She was honored as an American Association of School Librarians (AASL) Social Media Superstar Leadership Luminary in 2018, and named a 2020 EdTech Awards Leadership Finalist. In 2024, she was recognized as one of District Administration’s Top 100 Education Influencers.
