Session description

With all of its benefits, using AI as part of one’s practices can augment what’s possible for data analysis, engaging lesson design, and powerful curriculum support. This workshop offers participants strategies to humanize the role of AI so that care, connection, and personalization remain at the center of learning.

Outline

Total time: 60 minutes
CONTENT AND ENGAGEMENT:
(5 minutes) Opening and connection prompts
(10 minutes) Presenters will share a range of quotes and research tidbits for participants to process individually in small groups?
Presenters will use device-based engagement and AI-generated protocols for engagement
(15 minutes) Participants will collaborate on facilitated case studies to discuss ways to humanize the learning experience students are having
Groups will select among 4-5 case studies to dig into and discuss; groups will have a structured protocol to guide their conversation
(15 minutes) Participants will share their experiences and co-create a breadth of strategies for humanizing education in the world of AI
Participants will work in “analog” and digital formats to co-create strategies, while the presenters will model how engagement can occur both digitally and in-person
(10 minutes) Participants will ask questions and share insights
(5 minutes) Closing
