Session description

Inspired by Beyoncé’s Renaissance, this session empowers educators to create inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA youth and staff in conservative schools. Participants will collaborate through scenario consultancy and policy exploration; developing actionable strategies to foster diversity, navigate resistance, and lead with boldness, resilience, and creativity.

Outline

Content & Engagement:

Introduction (10 minutes): Overview of session goals, ISTE standards, and Beyoncé’s Renaissance as a leadership model.
Barriers and Challenges (15 minutes): Group discussion and peer sharing about challenges in supporting LGBTQIA students.
Collaborative Problem-Solving (20 minutes): Scenario-based activities where participants co-develop inclusive strategies using digital tools.
Technology-Driven Solutions (15 minutes): Hands-on exploration of AI and other digital tools for equity and inclusion.
Action Plan Creation (20 minutes): Participants design personalized action plans using templates and peer feedback.
Process:
Interactive peer discussions, device-based activities, collaborative scenario exercises, and guided action planning.
