Session description

Discover low-prep, innovative ways to engage students in mathematics. Make learning visible and amplify student voice with multimedia tools such as posters, animations, and podcasts. Learn how to facilitate digital portfolios to showcase their best work. Come explore and leave with resources to elevate your instruction.

Outline

* Introduction/benefit of creativity in mathematics (5 minutes)
* Demonstrating learning with Infographics (10 min)
* Demonstrating learning with Dynamic Presentations (10 min)
* Thinking Critically with Problem-Solving Posters (10 min)
* Creating Math Stories with Comic Strips (10 min)
* Resources to solidify academic vocabulary (10 min)
* Modeling thinking with Digital Whiteboards (10 min)
* Demonstrating learning through video (Animations, Video, and Stop Motion) (10 min)
* Making writing engaging with podcasts (10 min)
* Conclusion (5 minutes)

(For each section participants will engage as a student, and then create as a teacher.)
