Attendees will see that elevating academic discourse extends learning beyond grades and class time. Stories from teachers, administrators, and coaches show how using collaborative communication technology in classrooms boosts academic achievement and reduces absenteeism.

Introduction: The Importance of Academic Discourse (10 minutes)
- Brief overview of academic discourse, its benefits, and how it differs from classroom discussion
- Explanation of how extending learning beyond grades and class time enhances student engagement and achievement.

Leveraging Technology for Collaborative Communication (10 minutes)
- Discussion on the use of messaging and collaborative communication tools and they're application after high school.

Real-Life Success Stories (10 minutes)
- Specific examples of how these individuals have successfully used technology to boost academic achievement on EOC assessments and reduce absenteeism.

Practical Implementation Strategies (10 minutes)
- How to incorporate academic discourse can in planning, instruction, assessment, and beyond while leveraging technology to increase student engagement without starting from scratch.
- Tips on monitoring the effectiveness of academic discourse in the classroom and outside of it.

Outcomes and Benefits (10 minutes)
- Summary of the positive impacts on student achievement, absenteeism, and post-secondary preparedness.
- Create a PLN with educators who also strive to bring academic discourse to their classroom.
