Session description

Denver Public Schools and Digital Promise will share processes and resources to help districts identify how much they spend on edtech, save money through district-negotiated contract rates, and leverage a variety of data sources to evaluate the quality and value of edtech products with a cross-disciplinary district collaboration.

Outline

10 minutes: Presenter introductions and whole group activity to gain comfort and familiarity with edtech contracts and procurement
10 minutes: Deep dive into edtech marketplace challenges and pain points as well as resources – such as the five quality indicator and market validators - to empower education leaders with evaluation
5 minutes: Small group discussions and 1-2 whole group share out
10 minutes: Deep dive into Denver Public Schools procurement tagging and evaluation process
5 minutes: Small group discussions and 1-2 whole group share out
10 minutes: Deep dive into cohort level pre-negotiated rates to establish school-level opt-in options to save money without cutting resources
10 minutes: Whole group Q&A
