Session description

Not all students flourish in one specific way. With the technology tools available to teachers creating differentiated assignments that spark creativity and give students the ability to show content mastery. In this session, you will learn how to set up lessons that give students opportunities to show what they know.

Outline

Engagement activity (5) Open Kami wall for teachers to create a introduction of the selves using the Kami tool.

Lesson design discussion (15) Presenters will discuss ideas for lessons that can engage students and have open ended responses that allow for technology usage. Specifically I will cover the 4 parts of cooperative learning, simultaneous interaction, positive interdependence, individual accountability, and equal participation. The lesson design will highlight a lesson using cooperative learning to achieve mastery of the subject matter.

Technology options (30) We will look at the three different technology tools to see what skills and specific tools we can use and address. We will explore Kami, Adobe Express, and Canva. Within those tools we will look at how teachers can use items like, webpages, video recordings, branding, text editing, AI features, and other tools to open up the range of creation for students.

Reflection (5) as a group we will discuss how each of the tools allow students to expand on what might be a traditional assignment or assessment.

Conclude (5) At the end we will look at what we've learned and provide resources on how attendees can move forward.
