Session description

AI can shift the creative landscape, offering new tools to inspire and redefine how we tell stories. This session will explore how AI can become a catalyst for creativity in classrooms. Participants will leave with strategies and tools that use storytelling techniques with technology to foster creativity in all students.

Outline

1. Introduction to AI and Creativity - Share current research on how AI is being used in creative industries today (5 minutes)

2. Walkthrough of user-friendly AI platforms (Canva AI, MirrorTalk.AI, Gemini, and DALL-E) and how these tools can help students create and share their stories (10 minutes).

3. Collaborative Process: Attendees will brainstorm and practice using AI tools along with collaborative exercises in ways that can be brought back to their classrooms. These activities will foster originality and student agency (15 minutes).

4. Explore AI's limitations and benefits of AI as a means of promoting creativity in the classroom (10 minutes).

5. Q&A and Discussion: Share ideas about using AI to foster creativity in the classroom and allow time for questions (10 minutes).
