Session description

Elevate your leadership by learning how the Emotion Economy drives school culture, staff retention, and student success. This session empowers today’s leaders with eight actionable steps, leadership checkpoints, and activities to build a thriving, supportive environment. Lead your school through the challenges of modern education with relational and cultural strategies.

Outline

I. Introduction (5 minutes)
Welcome and Icebreaker:
Brief introductions or a quick icebreaker (e.g., "One word that describes your current school culture").
Session Overview:
Highlight objectives: understanding the Emotion Economy, teacher voice, and leadership practices.
Why It Matters:
Brief introduction of the Emotion Economy and its importance to leadership and school success.
II. The Emotion Economy and Teacher Voice (10 minutes)
Overview of Emotion Economy:
Define the Emotion Economy in schools.
Introduce Dr. Anna Marie Warren's research on emotional well-being and its impact on culture.
Teacher Voice:
Explain the significance of involving teachers in decision-making processes.
Discuss the value of creating a culture that appreciates teacher perspectives and contributions.

Step 6: Collaborate with staff to co-create initiatives that enhance the emotional climate.
