Session description

Walk through an interactive museum where you will come across characters who will narrate history from a 1st person point of view. When visiting our session, attendees will learn how to use VR to create meaningful learning environments and foster responsible research to develop predictive dialogues.

Outline

This project is highly relevant to the field of educational technology as it demonstrates the transformative potential of VR in creating dynamic learning environments. By focusing on immersive storytelling and interactive experiences, it addresses key challenges in engaging students with complex historical content. The integration of VR aligns with current trends in personalized learning, where technology is used to tailor educational experiences to meet diverse student needs.

Engaging the audience (1 minute):

Students will invite attendees to enter their virtual museums by scanning a code and accessing FRAME, a VR collaborative platform. Through asking engaging questions leading to meaningful interaction, participants will be motivated to learn more about the lives of the different characters that will be featured.

Project description (3 minutes):

Students will show attendees the step by step of the creation of the project, walking them through the resources employed and explaining participants how to engage in an interactive experience to explore history in an enjoyable manner. They will explain the benefits of utilizing technology to address individual learning needs while fostering creativity, computational thinking, and, as a result, gaining deep learning.

Sharing Knowledge (3 minutes):
Attendees will be invited to experience a live demonstration showcasing the students´ interacting with VR technology to illustrate how they engaged with historical characters, enhancing their understanding of history through this fun and interactive method. They will describe the research process they carried on and how this enhanced their experience.

Transforming learning beyond the project (3 minutes):

Students and teacher presenters seek to prove that innovation in education can help design a meaningful learning path and transform students´ perception on education. They will provide attendees with practical skills and knowledge that can be directly applied in their teaching practices. By empowering educators with the tools to create engaging and impactful educational experiences, this project contributes to the ongoing evolution of educational methodologies in the digital age.
