Session description

Discover how to enhance student research capabilities using AI tools, focusing on developing solutions for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This session will demonstrate the effective use of AI-assisted tools for research and synthesis, equipping educators with strategies to guide students in impactful, real-world problem-solving.

Outline

Introduction (5 minutes) Start with a welcome and a quick overview of the session’s goals. Introduce challenge-based learning and its importance in the educational landscape.

Understanding AI in Education (10 minutes) Discuss the key concepts of AI and its application in enhancing educational outcomes. Including a quick interactive poll to assess the audience's familiarity with AI in education.

Developing Challenge-Based Projects with AI (15 minutes) Show how to design and implement effective challenge-based projects using AI. Provide a live demonstration of AI tools that support problem-solving and creativity. Encourage small group brainstorming on potential projects applicable to their teaching areas.

Interactive Workshop: Applying AI in Real-World Scenarios (20 minutes) Participants will engage directly with AI tools on their devices to develop a mini challenge-based project. Guide them through using AI to address a common educational challenge and facilitate a peer-to-peer feedback session to refine each other’s projects.
