Leadership Journeys by Big Picture Learning

ISTE+ASCD is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting Leadership Journeys by Big Picture Learning for the first time at ISTELIVE + ASCD Annual 25! This is an intimate, invite-only event designed specifically for educators of color that is meant to feel like a combination between a Ted Talk and a Dance Party!

Let loose and join us for an evening of sips, bites, and serious beats while our DJ sets the perfect vibe for dancing and connecting. Three cozy stages will be spread out among the audience where inspiring leaders will share their origin and growth stories while answering questions and interacting with the audience.

We’re pleased to welcome the following storytellers:

• Amen Rahh is the author of the book Revolutionary School Culture. He’s known as the Revolutionary Principal for how he has built and founded University Pathways Public Service Academy, “The U,” an urban public school in South Central Los Angeles.
• Justis Lopez is a healing-centered educator, DJ, and founder of Just Experience LLC, cultivating joy, justice, and community transformation through events, education, and arts-based healing. A recent Harvard doctoral graduate, Justis works nationally as a consultant and strategist across education, policy, and nonprofit sectors.
• Jaqueline Woodson is a mainstage keynote at ISTELive+ASCD Annual this year! She is a National Book Award winner, a MacArthur Genius Grant fellow, and a New York Times bestselling author. Her works for children, adolescents, and adults have earned nationwide acclaim.

We invite educators of color, and allies of the equity in education movement, to join exceptional leaders from across the country who embrace the notion that sharing deeply personal stories of vulnerability is the path forward toward collective dopeness.

Leadership Journeys is part of Big Picture Learning's Leadership Soul initiative.
