Session description
"Cirque of the Heart" merges the awe-inspiring acrobatics of America’s Got Talent finalists with a transformative exploration of social emotional learning (SEL). This unique event is designed to captivate students, educators, and parents alike, blending breathtaking performances with actionable tools for emotional growth and community building.
The presentation goes beyond recognizing feelings—it equips participants with strategies to understand their needs, navigate emotions, and use feelings as a guide for positive action. Through interactive segments, the show fosters dialogue, empathy, and democratic collaboration, creating a shared experience for entire school communities.
By addressing both children and adults, "Cirque of the Heart" bridges generational gaps, teaching life skills that resonate on a personal and collective level. This innovative approach not only inspires inner improvement but also strengthens the bonds within school communities, leaving a lasting impact on all who attend.
Outline
I will mixing acrobatic shows with Social Emotional concepts, such as, "When are feelings a good guide to action and when are they not" For each question, audience members will turn and talk followed by a group share, to model and experience how to democratically construct answers to our questions. We will be projecting images that inspire consciousness throughout the show.
