The ISTEverse will take you on a guided tour of the future of learning, where you’ll encounter immersive learning spaces that leverage augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) to create dynamic, interactive learning adventures. Put on a VR headset or pick up a handheld AR device and get a glimpse of existing, emergent and future applications that model new learning with spatial technologies. With immersive learning opportunities in social sciences, history, engineering, creativity, mathematics, science and workforce development, the ISTEverse offers something for everyone. Put the potential of AR and VR to the test at our hands-on experience stations, then share ideas with other educators as you discuss best practices for using these powerful technologies in the classroom.
VRcade
Put on a VR headset and immerse yourself in realistic, 360-degree environments designed for teaching core subjects and developing students’ skills. Within our immersive arcade, you can try out experiential learning applications that support math, science, art, humanities and technical training.
ARcade
Experience how AR can enhance classroom instruction and help learners visualize complex concepts. Get hands on in the ARcade, and discover how handheld mobile devices can allow you to explore educational content in a dynamic, interactive way.
Connections Theatre
Hear from educators and developers as they share innovative practices using AR and VR technologies. The Connections Theatre will feature presentations by educators who have implemented these instructional practices in exciting ways. Speakers will include educators who developed a VR experience on bee pollination for fourth grade students, and a National Science Foundation grant awardee who used laser imaging, detection and ranging (LiDAR) for math and science learning.
ISTEverse Arena
Level up your VR experience in the arena, where you’ll discover how gamification elements make learning with VR even more engaging and interactive. Put on a headset and join other educators in challenges as you progress through the experience and earn rewards!
VR Wellness
Take a break from your busy conference schedule for a moment of mindfulness in the VR Wellness space where you’ll learn about how mindfulness in VR could help your students.
