Mrs. Christine Matash began her career in education at Susquenita School District in 1999. She has experience as a third grade teacher, fourth grade teacher, elementary computer teacher, elementary science teacher, and technology coach. She has been in her current role as the Director of Innovation and Technology since 2015. In that role, she implemented and supports a K-12 iPad 1:1 initiative.

Terrance has a Masters in Educational Technology. He is an Apple Teacher with Apple Portfolio Distinction. He has also been recognized as an Apple Learning Coach. He has presented on numerous ed tech topics at local, state, and regional conferences (PETE&C, MACPL, CAOLA-CON, CAIU iPad Summits). He is currently a history teacher and his building’s Innovation Coach. Terrance enjoys sharing his ed tech experiences while also learning from others.

Christa has a Masters of Education in Teaching and Curriculum, K-12 principal and curriculum supervisory certifications and her Superintendent Letter of Eligibility. She has presented on instructional strategies and technology topics at local and regional conferences. Christa was a high school English teacher, K-12 School Improvement Specialist, and Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment until 2022 when she became the Assistant to the Superintendent for Academic Operations at her current school district. Helping teachers improve their instruction and confidence through professional development and the use of technology is Christa’s passion.

Session description

In this campfire, educators will have conversations on innovative ways to use both staff and students to help transform learning. Learn how teachers can be used as innovative coaches and technology co-coordinators with students supporting both of those roles.

Purpose & objective

The goal of this Campfire is to allow participants to have discussions on how to use staff and students in innovative ways. At the conclusion of the Campfire, participants will have ideas to take to their district on new and innovative ways to use staff and students to reimagine learning after participating in multiple discussions. Specifically attendees will:
1. Gain unique ideas for managing technology (Hardware and Software Support)
2. Obtain ingenious ways to develop and integrate a Technology/Innovation Coaching Program
3. Acquire diverse ways to incorporate students into the innovation and support process of a school's technology program
