Aimee Bloom is the Coordinator of Instructional Technology for exceptional education, career and technical schools, and workforce development for Erie 1 Board of Cooperative Services in Western New York. Understanding the need for digital equity, Aimee has co-written the computer science and digital literacy curriculum for the Diocese of Buffalo and was on the authoring panel for the New York State Computer Science Standards. She previously taught computer technology to prek-8th grade students for over 10 years in the Diocese of Buffalo as well as worked as an integration specialist and technology coordinator.

Session description

Collaboration is a vital skill that allows students to navigate within a group setting. Join us as we co-learn and model collaboration and share instructional practices, resources and innovative ways to help students practice collaborative skills that will shape their future soft skills.

Purpose & objective

Purpose: To share how two educators from different agencies with similar job responsibilities are joining forces to support New York teachers, students, families, and communities through local and global collaborations.

Objectives
Participants will learn strategies to implement local and global collaborations in their schools and communities.
Participants will learn the value of networking and how ISTE can support that process.
Participants will share contact information to begin the networking/collaboration process
Participants will collaborate on a Wakelet, sharing their networking and collaboration strategies
