Craig is a passionate educator with over 25 years of classroom experience He has been a generalist primary teacher and P - 10 Digital Technologies specialist. He has held several leadership positions, focused on developing the effective use of technology across the curriculum by staff and students. As Director of Digital Learning at Melbourne Girls Grammar Craig works with staff and students across the school to improve their digital capabilities and implement digital projects. Craig is passionate about ensuring that educators and students have the necessary digital skills to meet their potential. Craig is also an ISTE Community Leader.

Session description

With the advent of platforms that make use of 30-second videos, microlearning is something that many of us are familiar with. This session will explore creating and curating microlearning videos and how to make use of them. Technological and pedagogical considerations will also be addressed.

Purpose & objective

Microlearning videos are 30-second videos that succinctly demonstrate a discrete skill. This session will focus on using microlearning to facilitate teacher professional learning. The skills covered can also be adapted to create student microlearning experiences.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore:
- How to create a microlearning video from scratch using a vareity of video editing platforms
- How to plan a suite of microlearning videos
- How do develop an environment where teachers can make the best use of these learning experiences.
