I have been in the Educational field for 17 years serving as a Middle School Teacher and a Technology Facilitator for our Parish. As being a teacher in a 1:1 classroom for many years, I find my expertise to be in integrating engaging and accessible technology lessons to support the instructional goals for the lesson. I currently work to Support teachers in the successful implementation of technology within their classroom by offering face-to-face professional development opportunities, virtual meeting opportunities of professional development, and in class-mentoring sessions.

Mary Beth is an education professional with 21 years of experience with the Calcasieu Parish School Board in Louisiana. Currently a Technology Facilitator, she has been a Facilitator for Assistive Technology and an Early Childhood classroom teacher of students with Autism. She is an advocate for all learners, she specializes in providing support for teachers PK-12, identifying technologies and strategies that empower students and promote independence. Recognized as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, she collaborates with innovative educators across the globe to exchange best practices for teaching and learning.

Session description

Are you looking for ways for your students to become inventors and creators? This session will feature a variety of 3D design platforms, AR/VR apps and enhancing technology tools that will transform the classroom into a magical, creative and critical thinking environment.

Purpose & objective

As educators are looking for ways to prepare students for the future and provide hands-on real-world experiences, 3D Design and VR, is at the forefront of innovation in technology. This poster session will feature student-created products that focus on 3D design, AR/VR, and technology tools that enhance, engage, and extend any learning enviornment.

Participants will:
 • View a variety of student-created products designed with Tinkercad, 3D Builder, and Minecraft Education Edition
 • Immerse in a Class VR gallery walk of student-created 3D designs and gain ideas on how to create virtual gallery walks
 • View student created products with the use of stop-motion animation, green screen, and video creation tools
 • Explore ideas and ways for implementation of all tools
 • Walk away with a wealth of information and resources

The purpose of this session is to allow participants the opportunity to explore a variety of meaningful technology tools that they can take back to the classroom and use with their students to create a magical experience.

Outline

A presentation will be displayed on the screen with relevant information for the session. Participants will be able to view and touch many of the student-created products. They will actively experience a VR gallery walk and take back resources for easy implementation.

I plan to engage the audience with a hands-on experience with Tinkercad and Minecraft Edu and engage the audience with a VR experience.

Participants will gain access to resources that will give them information about each tool, how to use the tool, ideas for implementation in their own classroom, and student-samples.
